South Korea is one of the Four Asian Tigers. It is one of the richest and most progressive countries not only in Asia but in the whole world. It is located on the southern portion of the Korean Peninsula. The capital of this democratic country in East Asia is the beautiful city of Seoul.
Jeongbang Waterfall is a beautiful and popular waterfall on Jeju Island. This waterfall which is located very near the ocean has a height of 23 meters. This famous tourist attraction is one of the very few waterfalls in Asia that falls directly in the ocean.
Cheonjeyeon Waterfall is another beautiful and popular tourist attraction on Jeju Island. The first cascade of this three-tier waterfall is 22 meters high and falls into the 21 meter deep Cheonjeyeon pond and from there, the water falls 30 m and continues to the third waterfall.
Another popular waterfall located on Jeju Island is the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall. This waterfall is also one of the main tourist attractions of the island. This waterfall is 12 meters wide and 22 meters tall.
The waterfall can be reach through a landscaped trail. It is most popular at night especially for lovers, because the falls are illuminated.
Seoraksan National Park is a nature reserve and was the first Korean national park. It is located on the east and center of the Korean Peninsula and is one of the most popular attractions for tourists and nature enthusiasts in Korea. The Soraksan Nature Reserve is valuable for its stunning natural beauty and rare flora and fauna. Beautiful Buddhist temples can also be found in the reserve.
Dadohaehaesang National Park is the largest national park in South Korea with a total area of 2,321.5 km2. Some of the main attractions of Dadohaehaesang National Park are Hongdo which is known for its amazing sunset; Heuksando which is noted for its beautiful Camellia flowers; and Baekdo which is popular for its ancient mysteries.
Jirisan National Park is a famous national park in South Korea. It is the largest terrestrial national park in the country with an emphasis on biodiversity conservation, a well-known conservation program on the Asiatic black bear and a pioneering restoration program on damaged areas by overuse.
Gyeongju National Park is South Korea’s only historical national park. The park covers many of the principal Silla historical sites in the city of Gyeogiu.
Gyeongju Tower is an observation tower located in the Gyeongie Expo Park in Geongiu City, North Gyeongsan. The tower is 82 meters in height and was completed in 2007.

N Seoul Tower is another popular tourist attraction located in Namsan Mountain in central Seouil. The structure functions as a communication and observation tower. It was constructed in 1969 and measures 236.7 meters in height. Visitors ride the Namsan cable car up the mountain, and then walk to the tower where a gift shop and restaurants can be found on the ground floor. The 4th observation deck features a revolving restaurant which rotates at a rate of one revolution every 48 minutes.
Forty tombs of members of the Korean Joseon Dynasty that reigned from 1392 to 1910 can be found in the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. These tombs are scattered in over 18 locations across South Korea and were built to honor and respect the ancestors and their achievements. These tombs are unesco World Heritage Site.
Hwaseong, which means Brilliant Castle, is a historic structure which is located 30 kilometers south of Seoul and enclosed much of central Suwon including King Jeongjo's Palace Haenggung. This South Korean tourist attraction is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Gyeongbokgung is a royal palace located in northern Seoul. It was originally constructed in 1394 and was reconstructed in 1867. Its name is literally translated as “Palace of Shining Happinness”. It is also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace.
If you are fond of history, the best place for you is the National Museum of Korea which is the flagship museum of Korean history and art. The museum contains over 220,000 pieces in its collection with about 13,000 pieces on display at one time. It displays relics and artifacts throughout six permanent exhibition galleries such as Archaeological Gallery, Historical Gallery, Fine Arts Gallery I, Donation Gallery, Fine Arts Gallery II, and Asian Art Gallery. It is the sixth largest museum in the world in terms of floor space, now covering a total of 137,201 m².
Kids and adults will surely love this place the Everland Resort, a theme park located in Yongin City, Gyonggi-do. It is the country’s largest theme park. In 2007, Everland ranked 10th in the world for amusement park attendance. Along with its main attractions, Everland also includes a zoo and a water park known as Caribbean Bay.
Would you like to feel the spirit of Seoul? Then visit Cheonggyecheon, a nearly 6 km long, modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul. It was opened to the public in 2005 and instantly become popular among residents of the city and tourists..
The War Memorial of Korea opened in 1994. It is located in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu in Seoul. The War Memorial houses six exhibition rooms displaying over 13,000 items under different themes, including an outside exhibition area consisting of numerous military equipments.
The Bomun Lake Resort is a large tourist complex around Bomun Lake in Gyeongiu City. This tourist attraction is situated under the ruin of the old fortress on Myeonghwal Mountain. It provides lodging, eatery, recreation and sports facilities in the city and is extremely popular among domestic tourists.
